Family and friends are mourning the unexpected passing of Laura Lynn Smith, who died peacefully in her sleep on June 1. Her sudden loss has left loved ones heartbroken as they come to terms with the passing of a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend.

According to a statement shared by her family, Laura’s passing has created a profound void in the lives of those who knew and loved her. Remembered for her warmth, kindness, and ability to bring joy to others, she touched countless lives through her compassion and unwavering love for family and friends.

“Laura brought so much joy, love, and light into our lives,” her family shared. “This loss is deeply painful, and we are still struggling to process the reality of life without her.”

Laura’s family describes her as someone whose presence brightened every room she entered. She was known for her caring nature, generous spirit, and the meaningful connections she built with those around her. Whether through laughter, support during difficult times, or simply being present for the people she loved, Laura left a lasting impression that will not be forgotten.

At the center of Laura’s life was her family. She is survived by her daughter, Ava Rose Ostrem, who recently celebrated her 16th birthday. She also leaves behind her brother, Matthew Alexander Smith; her sister, Carlene Anne Lynch; her brother-in-law, Frederick Lynch; and her niece and nephew, Kylee Hunter and Caden Matthew Lynch.

Laura is also survived by her parents, Rickey and Diana Smith, along with numerous extended family members and friends who cherished her deeply.

As loved ones reflect on her life, they remember a woman whose kindness, love, and generosity enriched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will continue to live on through the family she adored, the friendships she nurtured, and the countless moments of happiness she shared with others.

To honor Laura’s life, family and friends will gather for a Celebration of Life on July 18 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Dauntless Wine Company, a venue that held special significance for Laura and her loved ones. Those attending will have the opportunity to share memories, celebrate her life, and support one another during a difficult time. RSVP arrangements are being coordinated through Carlene Lynch.

The family has expressed sincere gratitude for the many messages of sympathy, prayers, and acts of kindness received since Laura’s passing. They have found comfort in the overwhelming support of friends, relatives, and community members who have reached out to honor her memory.
